Elections for Student Council Offices will take place on April 2.
The candidates and their statements of candidacy are as follows:
President
Nate Walker--As Student Council President, I hope to serve the school well and make all the activities the best they can be. I am Oklahoma Association of Student Councils State President, have been a two year national Student Council delegate, and have attended Student Council BASIC. If elected, I promise to make the activities the best they can be while making it a fun year for everyone.
Vice President
Christina Alfonso--Hi! I'm Christina Alfonso and I'm running to be your next Student Council Vice President. I believe my past two years spent as Class President have prepared me to expand my leadership school wide. I've learned to see the bigger picture and I would love to make your 2009-2010 school year the best it can be! Vote for me!
Ori Anderson--I have gone to Edison since 6th grade. I have been actively involved with school activities my whole high school career. This year I was a major part of the Homecoming glow-light assembly and a superlative day co-chair. Sophomore year I was class secretary and helped organize Sophomore Day. I hope that by being Vice-President of StuCo, I can be more involved and bring my experiences to make it the best year ever!
Secretary
Hannah James--Hi, I'm Hannah James and I'm running for Student Council Secretary. I have been in StuCo for 2 years and I am very involved. I was co-chair of an Edison week day this year, and I have been in Varsity Soccer since freshman year. I love being active and I will work my hardest to make next year the best it can be!
Treasurer
Ellen Dismukes--Hi, I'm Ellen, and I'm running for Student Council Treasurer. I love working hard and participating in all that I can. I've played varsity soccer since freshman year and I have been in Student Council for 2 years. I love getting people involved and making Edison amazing!
Emily Edwards--I'm Emily Edwards, hopefully your future StuCo treasurer. You should vote for me because I am organized and hardworking. i would attend all of the Board of Control meetings and make sure our Student Council money is being spent wisely. I've been on the Varsity Pom Squad for the past 2 years. Also, I am an active member of Student Council and class board. I have attended BASIC Leadership camp, Student Council State, and District 7 leadership conferences. Vote for me, Emily Edwards!
