If you are a high school athlete interested in earning a sports scholarship, you must register with the NCAA clearinghouse. The 2008-09 Guide for the College-Bound Student-Athlete will help you understand what you need to do to be eligible for an athletic scholarship.

  • Check out www.fafsa4caster.ed.gov to learn how much aid you would receive if you applied today.
  • Beginning January 1, students can set up MyFSA accounts by visiting www.studentaid.ed.gov and clicking on "MyFSA."
  • One of the first steps to take on the path to college financial aid is for you (and one of your parents) to request a PIN (Personal Identification Number).  The U.S. Department of Education assigns the PIN free of charge.  Apply for a PIN at www.pin.ed.gov prior to completing the FAFSA.  With a PIN, you can electronically sign your application, make corrections to your submitted application, and review your processed application data on the web.  Also, download and complete a FAFSA on the Web Worksheet at www.fafsa.ed.gov to organize all your information and to prepare to fill out the FAFSA as soon as possible after January 1st.
  • Remember:  If a web site requests credit card information or some other form of payment to complete the FAFSA, then that web site is not the official government (FREE) web site.
