Once a year, senior girls are invited to compete in a statewide dance competition that judges individual rather than team performance. Competitors must be seniors on their high school's pom or dance team or all-star squad. The Oklahoma All-State and east and west State Regional dance teams were selected from a field of more than 75 girls on September 27, 2009. They pick girls for the State Regional team for east and west and then
take the top group out of both of those to make the all-state team. Ori Anderson, captain of Edison's pom squad, received the most prestigious recognition when she was named to the Oklahoma All-State Dance Team. She is our first Edison pom girl to have this honor. There were only 20 chosen from all over the state of Oklahoma, and she is one of only two TPS students on the team.
The all-state dance team will perform at the state pom competition on December 12th in Oklahoma City. Congratulations, Ori!
